At the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School and Clinic, we are excited to introduce our latest Continuing Education Massage Therapy Course on Cupping. Designed for both massage students and Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) who are new to the practice of cupping therapy, this 7-hour course offers a deep dive into the history, core concepts, contraindications, and indications of modern cupping therapy.

The course begins with a comprehensive introduction to the foundational aspects of cupping therapy. From historical perspectives to core concepts, students will gain a solid understanding of the practice’s evolution and its integration into modern massage therapy.

Our expert instructors will delve into the essential tools and techniques that underlie the application of modern cupping therapy. The hands-on training provided will equip students with the skills to seamlessly integrate cupping techniques into various modalities of bodywork.

With a focus on myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, sports recovery, and orthopedic applications, students will explore specific anatomical considerations for both the upper and lower body. Techniques will be demonstrated and practiced in a variety of positions to ensure versatility in application.

Students will have the invaluable opportunity to conduct trades with their fellow classmates, utilizing the provided silicone cups (2 sets of 8pc) and Vacuum Cups (1 set of 24pc) to practice these newfound skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

- Effectively apply both silicone and vacuum suction cups for myofascial release and specific orthopedic focus, ensuring the safety and comfort of their clients.
- List contraindications and indications for the application of cupping therapy.
- Utilize and apply cupping techniques therapeutically, effectively, and comfortably for their clients.
- Effectively manage the application time of cups placed on their clients.
- Integrate cupping with joint mobilizations, passive stretches, and lymphatic drainage techniques.
- Apply cupping techniques in prone, supine, side-lying, and seated positions.
- Identify specific anatomical structures, including muscle origin and insertion, and bony landmarks, applying cupping techniques based on specific focus areas.
