Aloha!!

I would like to share with all of you some ideas and thoughts I have had regarding this system of bodywork and why I feel it would benefit every Massage Therapist out there to learn and incorporate Lomi Lomi into what they do.

The Aloha Spirit of Lomi Lomi

Lomi Lomi as a system of bodywork and as a system of personal enrichment and development is very much all inclusive and all accepting of ALL who choose to dive into its waters and why? Because that is what the Aloha spirit is all about. But that’s not what I want to focus on here.

You can research to your hearts content about the Hawaiian way of living life through Peace and inclusiveness, and you will find the commonality and universal truths that we all generate within ourselves to be better people both mentally, spiritually and physically.

The Relevance of Lomi Lomi Today

In this very heated and stressed and polarized human climate that we are immersed in, I can imagine that the clients who are getting on your table are mentally and physically affected by it on a constant basis and it is up to us as Massage Therapists to help provide a safe escape for all of the mess that is going on in our world right now.

We take on quite a bit when we are working on clients. It gets draining for us and stressful, thumbing and fingering our way into muscle tissue and doing our best to get that tissue to release and relax so that we can help our clients get out of that pain cycle that they are in.

We are “fixed” and intent on helping get it out of them, and I’m sure that it eventually takes its toll on us.

Lomi Lomi benefits both the client – and the massage therapist.

I truly believe that Lomi Lomi is that escape that WE as Massage Therapists need in order to continue what we do and doing it with love, compassion and caring for not only our profession and for our clients but for ourselves as well. There is something truly magical about being able to unfix your positioning around a massage table and begin to flow around it with grace and style.

Lomi Lomi takes the focused application of our techniques away from our thumbs and fingers and call on support from our forearms and “mindful elbows” and summoning our core and legs and feet to help guide our movements to support a broad array of fast and slow movement, gentle or deep pressure or a combination of everything mentioned.

How wonderful would it be to be guided by your intuition and your heart in the form of seamless flowing movement and breath to bring a new level of quality and a new feeling for your clients?

Trust me the praise will be there when you finish, the surprise and the amazement when your client gets off the table, looks at you and says “Wow” will be there. The look in their eyes and the gratitude, and their thoughts saying to themselves,”Wow this therapist really does care”.

I honor and commend ALL therapists out there who take on the responsibility of helping to facilitate another human being’s well being in any form. But if you had the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and encourage yourself to try something totally new, that might just up your game in massage therapy, enhance your overall performance around the table and also to help realign your focus and fill your cup of knowledge, would you take it?

I hope you will and that you will want to join the other therapists who have already signed up to go on this journey called Lomi Lomi with me.

Many Blessings, Big Aloha and Ho’omaluhia to all of you.
