I have found that the biggest and best thing one can do with advanced modalities is to revisit them. It’s funny that our culture is so into the next new thing that the idea of going more deeply into something seems revolutionary!
This is particularly true of subtle modalities such as cranio-sacral therapy. The second step to learning and practicing cranio-sacral work is to take that first step again after a month or after years of practice. The advanced forms of bodywork are like classics – we don’t read the Bible and then ask, “Where’s the Bible II? What’s the sequel?”
So it is in Tai Chi, in yoga, in cranial work, in Zero Balancing – the next step is to deepen what you know through revisiting the classic protocol.
As Marcel Proust reportedly said, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
This is the reason we are so excited and proud to be providing for everyone in Central Texas who has previously studied Cranio-Sacral work, a wonderful chance to have new eyes with respect to their sensitivity and clarity in doing cranial work.
- Revisit the delicate interlocking articulations and anatomy of the cranial bones is like a Chinese puzzle that never gets old.
- Feel deeply the pulses of cerebrospinal fluid, what Ida Rolf called “primary respiration” – so fundamental a role did she feel the “breathing brain” played in the lives of our structure and energy.
- Refine the cranial moves with the bones: the frontal, occipital, parietal, sphenoid, temporal, and mandible – each has its own story to tell.
So don’t miss this great one-day deepening class with Christopher Fritel. It doesn’t matter when or where you’ve previously studied cranial work. You are welcome to join in and deeply enjoy refining your work together.
