For years, I’ve enjoyed playing guitar to inspire students even more when they practice. My background and degree before massage was in music composition and improvisation.
And for years people have asked me, “Do you have a recording”? I didn’t. I enjoy what gets spontaneously created in the moment in the classroom. But then I woke up one morning and thought, “Oh, I could record to live massages being done by graduates in a recording studio.”
So that’s what we did. I had three of my favorite therapists in Austin come to the studio. We recorded the music live to their sessions at Murray Music in Austin.
Dave Murray and two of his friends were the receivers.
Honestly I am extremely pleased with the result! It captures the
feeling of live music in one hour of improvised acoustic guitar. As far as I know it is the only musical recording ever made live to actual massages – so it works incredibly well in accompanying sessions.
